Nanjing-Houston Petrochemical Industry Workshop was held successfully on July 12, 2006 in Houston. Mr. Hua Jinzhou, Consul General of Chinese Consulate in Houston, presented the workshop and delivered a speech. The workshop was jointly sponsored by Nanjing Municipal Government and Major Office of the City of Houston, organized by U.S.-China Chamber of Commerce. A total of about 60 delegates attended this workshop. During the workshop, the Nanjing delegation of 17 people led by Mr. Jin Daoqiang, Deputy Mayor of Nanjing, discussed extensively and productively about the issues of mutual interest and benefit with dozens of renowned petrochemical companies in greater Houston area, including ExxonMobil Chemical, Shell Chemical, Dow Chemical, CITGO Corporation, Air Liquide LLP, Celanese Company etc. The Vice President Connor from Celanese Company and the Vice President Mao from Air Liquide LLP introduced their experience of large scale investment in Nanjing respectively. Deputy Mayor Jin introduced the environment of investment in Nanjing and welcomed American companies to go to Nanjing. Ms. Helen Chang, Assistant to Mayor of Houston, Mr. James Shu, Vice President of US-China Chamber of Commerce and other business leaders participated at the workshop.
